Her family life was filled with volatility and uncertainty from a young age. Following her father's murder, her mother, Vivienne, fell into a series of unstable relationships with other men who frequently invaded their home without permission. Alicia was a timid and contemplative child who sought consolation in books and fictional worlds to escape the harsh realities of her surroundings. Left to fend for herself, she developed an early sense of independence, but she also carried an underlying sense of abandonment and anxiety that never went away.
Alicia suffered as a teenager with her mother's unstable behavior and the influx of men into their lives. She began to rebel against her surroundings, staying out late and hanging out with the wrong crowd. As an adult, Alicia has become resilie
