Project Description: Casting charismatic young singers and dancers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds to portray various roles in West Side Story, with a preference for Houston-area performers. The union of jurisdiction for Houston Grand Opera is AGMA - American Guild of Musical Artists. However, by operation of law in the state of Texas, union membership is not a requirement for engagement by any Texas employer, including the Houston Grand Opera. Thus, these auditions are open to union and non-union candidates alike, but HGO will abide by the substantive terms of its agreement with AGMA for all hired participants.

have a strong dance technique and classical/traditional musical theater vocal training. Francesca Zambello will direct this production and Joshua Bergasse will revive the original Jerome Robbins
choreography.
