Characters are the lifeblood of any story. They provide the reader with someone to root for, or against. They are the ones that drive the plot forward and without them, there would be no story. So what goes into creating a perfect character?
There is no one answer to this question as every actor and writer will have their own unique take on what makes a character perfect. However, there are some key elements that should be considered when creating any character.
One of the most important aspects of any character is their motivation. What drives them to do what they do? This can be something as simple as wanting to find a lost toy or save the world from destruction. Without a motivation, a character is simply going through the motions and is not truly driving the story forward.
Another important aspect to consider is how well-rounded your character is.
In every story, there is a character that stands out above the rest. This character is usually the protagonist, and is often deemed the “perfect” character. However, what makes a perfect character? Is it their heroic deeds? Or is it something more? The protagonist, or hero, is the one who battles against the antagonist and tries to solve the conflict. Often times, this character is “perfect” in some way.
There are many different types of characters that can be found on screen and stage. However, I don’t think there is such a thing as the perfect character. This is because every character has flaws and imperfections. However, that is what makes them interesting and relatable to readers. While there may not be a perfect character, there are certain qualities that make a character well-rounded and believable. So for purposes of this article, below are tips to create the “perfect” character.
How to create the perfect character:
When it comes to creating the perfect character, there are a few things you need to take into account. First and foremost, you need to figure out what kind of person your character is. Are they outgoing or introverted? Do they like to be in the spotlight or do they prefer to stay in the background? Once you have a good understanding of your character’s personality, you can start to flesh out their appearance. What do they look like? What kind of clothes do they wear?
1. A perfect character is someone who is always in control of their emotions and never lets them get the best of them. They are level-headed and always think before they speak or act.
2. Perfect characters are also honest and have integrity. They would never do anything to jeopardize their relationships or their own personal values.
3. Perfect characters are always respectful and treat others the way they want to be treated. They are never rude or judgmental and always try to see things from another person’s perspective.
Sounds a little boring to me. So what’s so important about playing the perfect character?
Actors are often drawn to the idea of playing the perfect character, right? There are a few reasons why this might be the case. First, actors often want to play parts that challenge them and that they can really sink their teeth into. A perfect character is usually complex and well-rounded, offering ample opportunity for an actor to explore different aspects of their craft. Additionally, playing a perfect character allows an actor to flex their creative muscles and show off their range. Finally, audiences tend to respond well to seeing perfection on screen, which can lead to increased popularity and success for the actor.
On the flip side…
This whole time I was talking about the perfect character, but what about an actor who plays the character perfectly? Hmmm…!
In every movie or TV show, there is that one actor who just seems to fit their character perfectly. They become the person they are playing and make it seem so effortless. Here are some of those actors who played the perfect character.
Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean is probably one of the most iconic characters in recent memory. He completely transformed into Jack, giving him all the quirks and mannerisms that we love. It’s hard to imagine anyone else playing that role.
